Bridging the Gap Between Drivers and Law Enforcement
What is Law Enforcement Traffic Stop Safety?
Getting pulled over is one of the most stressful experiences a driver can face, particularly for teenagers and new drivers. Without proper preparation, routine traffic stops can escalate into fear, trauma, or conflict.
In partnership with the North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program (NCGHSP), Dedication To Community’s (D2C) Traffic Stop Safety Initiative equips both drivers and law enforcement officers to communicate clearly, de-escalate tension, and reduce risk during traffic stops. Through experiential education and community collaboration, the initiative works to prevent violence, minimize trauma and incarceration, reduce costly legal and social consequences, and build lasting trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
