Why D2C?: Simply put, I didn't birth babies to bury them! The longer answer is that as a parent, Black woman, and community member, I believe it is our collective responsibility to contribute to the change that this world needs. I grew up in an environment that claimed the lives of way too many people who looked like me. My work in social justice has brought in contact with too many grieving mothers, wives, children, and friends. Joining the D2C faculty allows me to use all of my experiences to bridge the gap between law enforcement officers and the community for better outcomes for everyone.
